Support our Story
Help us bring HOW TO GET BACK TO THE FOREST, a short film based on the award-winning short story by Sofia Samatar, to life.

This powerful adaptation follows Jamie, a young girl sent to a government-mandated camp designed to enforce obedience and conformity. There, a rebellious friendship reveals a hidden truth about the world around them. Decades later, Jamie must confront the memory of that summer and the choice between safety and resistance.
We have another weekend of production ahead of us and are preparing for post-production, and preparing the film for festival premieres, screenings, and distribution.
In a time when young generations are navigating misinformation, political division, and increasing social pressure to conform, HOW TO GET BACK TO THE FOREST invites viewers to ask: What does it cost to remain silent? And what does it take to remember who we are?
Join us in starting a dialogue about civic responsibility, youth agency, and democratic resilience.

Our Goal
We are seeking to raise $15,000 to support our second weekend of production, post-production, marketing, and distribution efforts.
Below is a percentage breakdown of the anticipated remaining costs required to bring the project to completion:
